This beautiful yellow flower tastes bad to cattle.  If they do happen to eat it there milk will taste bitter. Even bees that get pollen from it make bitter honey.  The bloom period for this Texas Wildflower is April through December.  Sometimes the center of the flower is brown and sometimes yellow.
