Long-Leaf Wild Buckwheat
Long-Leaf Buckwheat

Eriogonum longifolium
Knotweed Family -
Polygonaceae

This plant blooms from June thru August.  Animals don't like to eat this plant.  The Kiowa Indians rubbed the fresh leaves on buffalo and deer hides to tan them.  The Navajo used a cold infusion as a lotion to treat red ant bites.  This picture shows the tiny flowers almost double their actual size.
