Xanthium strumarium
Sunflower Family - Asteraceae

As you can tell the picture is not of a flower, but a picture of a fruit.  I have not caught this plant in bloom, but wanted to show the fruit anyway.  I can remember as a kid sitting at my grandparent's house picking these things out of the fur of her dogs.  I wonder if Velcro started this way.  You can take one of the fruit and glue wiggly eyes on the front end and then place it on your shoulder.  It will stick to your clothes and look just like a cute little critter taking a ride.  Seriously now, this Texas Wildflower blooms from June through October.
