The Gayfeather is one of the most noticeable flowers that blooms in late summer and early fall. If the rains come when they should these plants get very tall and lush. Bloom period from August through October. It is also know as: Blazing Star. Since I am unsure about the exact scientific name of this particular gayfeather I have not listed my quess. It will be up to you to put the scientific name. It could be Liatris elegans, Liatris mucronata or Liatris or Liatris pycnostachya, you decide.
