Queen Anne's Lace

Queen Anne's Lace

Daucus carota
Carrot Family - Umbelliferae/Apiaceae

This Texas Wildflower blooms from April through August.  When the blooms wither the underside of the flower turn up and much resemble a bird's nest.  The black swallowtail butterfly lays it's eggs on the foliage and then the larvae use it as a food source.  This flower is sometimes mistaken for Yarrow.
