GREAT MULLEIN

 Verbascum thapsus
Figwort Family - Scrophulariaceae

Other names for this Texas Wildflower: Flannel Leaf, Indian Tobacco, Jupiter's staff and Velvet Dock. This flower has been used for making candles and making medicine. I had to stand outside of a barbed wire fence and peer over it to get this picture. Wish I could have gotten closer, but there was a very unfriendly bull watching from the other side of the fence. This plant blooms from March to November.
