Rockrose
![]() |
Helianthemum georgianum
Rosewood Family - Cistaceae
The stamens on the Rockrose tend to favor one side or the other. The blooms open in the morning and the flowers only last a few hours, the petals falling away by mid-afternoon, if not sooner. I feel priveledged to have found this flower for two reasons: 1. they only bloom for part of the day and 2. the are getting to be rather rare and hard to find. They bloom from April through May.
