Here's an interesting insect fact: The female praying mantis devours the head, and sometimes even the entire body, of the male praying mantis just after mating. Yikes! No wonder they're praying. Gees, you'd think word would get around after awhile that this sort of thing is happening everytime. Aren't these guys reading the obituaries in the newspaper everyday? "Cause of death: Yet another head bit off after mating with female." Yup, that would pretty much tip me off! No thanks, I'll pass... Of course, if it WAS me, I'd at least try some pleading first- "Look, honey, instead of that whole head eating part at the end, what do you say tonight we just cuddle? You know how you always want to cuddle, right? Well, we can't really cuddle if I'm headless now, can we?"
