Inverness, FL Inverness is the county seat for Citrus County; a cute little town that is situated just off I-75, between Tampa and Ocala, just inland from Crystal River and Homosassa Springs, where the manatees are. Our favorite restaurant is STUMPKNOCKERS!! The area is HILLY; not a palm tree on our place, its all live oaks and pine trees!! Reminds us of home, without the snow! We are only about 15 miles from the site of the Florida Winter Dog Show Circuit - plan to visit!! |
The Front: We are located on a corner, so we have a great circular driveway; this whole front
quarter-acre is fenced, but there are no gates at the two ends of the driveway,
so the dogs don't run free out here. Well, one day, they did get out,
and we found them all at the gate, trying to get back IN! |
We bought this 28' x 70' mobile in December, 2003; thanks to Deb and Mike Ross, Rossroi
Shelties, for housing us until we found the place (in three days), made
and offer and then closed on it!!...and, we're still FRIENDS!! |
On the left is the back of the house, photo taken from the far end of the property.
This is about an acre, fenced - the dogs thing they died and went to heaven!
I know, the one tree LOOKS like a palm tree (in the photo that shows
Dwight's workshop/beer shed), and I already said we don't have any palm trees.
Well, this one is not a palm tree, its called a LOQUAT tree. My
husband says it must have been named after me - LOW-SQUAT person. |

The flowers start to bloom in March, just about when we leave (gg). The azaleas
by the front door are beautiful, we have a huge bougainvilla in the front
area that you can't see in these photos because we were new snowbirds and didn't
know it could get hit by frost. It did, so, now we are awaiting its re-growth.
I have no idea what the pink thing is. |
This is the view from our front porch, showing the corner where the two roads meet.
Its very peaceful in this neighborhood. Two sides of us are a road,
can barely see any other homes, one side is woods and the back side has horse
fencing and three horses. We are in a small subdivision called Indian Acres; it is by itself, a couple of miles from the nearest main road, so there is not a lot of thru-traffic, only the people that live here. |
