Lancaster Chapter of the Villanova Alumni Association
Attendees: Jim Riccio, Karen Rizzo, Gene Weisser, Jack Wood, Frank Hinnenkamp, John O’Donnell.
- The meeting was opened with the prayer to St Thomas of Villanova.
- There were no minutes of the previous meeting.
- Treasurer’s report: $303.84.
- Announcements from the Villanova News were presented.
- The Chapter Mass held at St Leo with Augustinian Father Tracy is tentatively scheduled for a Sunday in October
- The annual new student reception is scheduled for July 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the home of Jack and Sue Wood.
- The bus basketball trip for the Connecticut game on February 15, 2003, at First Union attracted very little response. We will try the Pavilion or the Palestra in 2003-04 and only 20 tickets. Other suggestions were to obtain the alumni room with refreshments and\or to share with another alumni chapter.
- Jay and Karen will host a TV game at their home. The exact game will be decided later.
- The annual Christmas party at the home of Frank and Mary Ann Hinnenkamp will be Sunday. December 7, 2003.
- A prominent speaker for sometime in 2003-04 will be sought. Location is the Bent Creek Country Club.
- Jack Wood’s three year presidency is completed. Karen Rizzo offered to accept the office in 2004-05 if Jack stayed another year and he agreed.
- John O’Donnell expressed concern about the lack of a membership list and believes we should somehow have one.
- The next meeting is tentatively set for Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at St Leo.
