The point of these graphs is to show how well the Aeros are doing on the Power Play and Penalty Killing.
The top figure is for the current 1997-98 season; the bottom figure is for the two previous seasons. What is interesting to note is the "evolution" of the Aeros' Special Teams.
For all three seasons, there is no appreciable difference in the number of power play opportunities for the Aeros and their opponents. What is appreciable is the change from two seasons ago when the Aeros were badly out scored on the power play [i.e. they couldn't kill a penalty]; to last season when they held their own, matching the opponents virtually goal for goal; to this season when they are killing penalties better than anybody else in the league and scoring on the power play above average for the league [see also the page on IHL Power Play Performance].
