Sharon Savage earned an M.S. in Zoology/Animal Behavior from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has been training and showing dogs for 27 years. Her dogs have earned multiple titles in obedience, agility, conformation, weight-pulling, herding and go-to-ground, achieving several National Top 10 rankings in both the U.S. and England.
Between 1996-99, Sharon worked with over 700 dogs and their owners through K-9 Behavioral Solutions, her dog training and behavior consulting practice in Madison, WI.
From 1999-2001, Sharon lived in England, where she served as a lecturer, temperament evaluator and regional coordinator for their national "Pets As Therapy" scheme and competed successfully in British obedience and working trials.

Sharon opened A-1 Dog Training Center in spring of 2002, and continues to compete in a wide variety of dog sports in Missouri and surrounding states.
Sharon's current volunteer activities include serving as the web designer for the Central Missouri Humane Society, doing monthly therapy dog visits to University of Missouri's Eldercare, and visiting local schools to perform trick demos and talk about positive dog training and dog bite prevention. Sharon and her dogs also appear regularly on KOMU TV-8's live morning show, "Pepper & Friends."
Sharon is the published author of numerous dog behavior articles, and has been cited frequently in both broadcast and print media as an expert on dog-related issues. She has spoken on animal behavior before many professional organizations and academic departments, including:
