I know some of you have continued to be involved with the aftermath of the WTC destruction. You have our prayers as you continue to deal with the aftermath day by day. I hope all members will take the time to join us on Friday December 21^st at 8 pm at the Babylon Town Hall in the ARES/RACES Radio Room for SSARC’s Holiday Party. Once again, KA@HFH volunteered his daughter Susan to organize the party. Buddy also volunteered his help. If you can, bring a favorite goody or dish to share with your friends. Lets say Hi to our newley weds. And even better, bring a friend or two. Please R.S,V,P, to Susan or Freddy at 661-1748 to let them know how many you are bringing NLT Sunday Dec. 16th. There will be the customary $5 per person charge to help defray expenses.

At this time when our Country is at war with the Terrorists and the enemy’s to our way of life, let us all come together to support each other. What better way to show those who so hate us, that they have not succeeded in bowing our heads, then by coming together to celebrate this wonderful Double Holiday Season and each other.

Just a reminder that December is membership renewal time. Can you believe it? It is almost the year 2002 already.

Did you get to see this year’s Leonids Meteor Shower? If you did, you saw one of natures more spectacular shows. If not, the next peak will be in about 33 years but a similar maximum will be in about 99 years. Did anyone use ham radio to help count the meteors or their rate? If you did, an article for this journal would be nice. Yea, brag a little! And don’t forget the Ham Radio University gathering coming very soon.
