March 2001 Present’s Corner

For those of you who did not get the word, it is my sad duty to inform you that Jack Mancini,KA2FMC, lost his wife Marie on February 27th. Jack, all your friends at SSARC send you their prayers of support and for your recovery. Though I know that you are not in the best of health, we all hope to see you soon. Also Sy,WB2PBG, has had some health problems in December 2000 though January 2001. Thankfully, it appears all is now well.
Once again at the December 2000 meeting, Susan, KA2HFH’s daughter, treated all of us to another super Holiday Party. Thank you Susan, great job. Everyone who attended spent a great evening of friendship and comradeship with our fellow club member and their love ones. The only down side was that more of you did not attended and help use eat up all the food and goodies.
As was voted at the 11/17/00 meeting, we have started the one year experiment of only holding four meeting in 2001, on the hope that this well encourage more members to attend. Next Friday March 16 is the first of these meeting. The meeting is still at the Babylon Town Hall location starting at 8:00 PM. I ask that you all make an extra effort to attend. If you haven’t renewed for 2001, membership dues are due. See you there! 73’s
