Shopping at the mall is an enjoyable and relaxing way to
spend an afternoon. You walk and see all the things that you would like
to have. But, the money you make at work will never get the things you
want. You ask yourself, “Why can’t I ever get what I want?”
So disappointed you leave and go home.
You’re at home all you want is just to sit and watch some TV. While
surfing through the channels you stop at the channel 22 the Christian
Network. On the TV is a Christian family asking its viewers to help support
the network and the show. “Why is it that every time I look and
there is some Christian Organization asking for money? If the God who
they follow if so powerful, then why doesn’t He just give them money?
“Who would want to be a Christian any way, they seem to have no
money and are always humbling them selves.” You think loudly to
yourself. “I wouldn’t want to be a Christian...” There
is a knock at the door.
You open the door and it is a door-to-door salesman selling Life insurance.
The slick-tongued salesman says, “This policy is unlike any other”.
He then goes on to say that with this policy anything in this world can
be and will be yours. But you must sign on the dotted line. Your mined
is filled all the material things that you want in life. “Sounds
great I’ll sign it!” You look for a pen to sign the contract
but it seems that you can’t find one. Then the salesman says with
an evil grin “Here, use my red pen.” So you go ahead and sign
the document. “By the way what do you need from me”? “Oh
nothing now, when it comes time I want one thing from you. But, lets not
worry about that now, you’ll know when its time to pay”. He
says with an evil grin.
The salesman leaves and a felling of security fills your spirit making
you think things will get better. The next day you find out that you have
won ten million dollars from the Publisher Clearing House Sweepstakes,
and the money will be transferred into your bank account the next day.
You jump up and down for joy. “Finally I can get all the things
in the world that I want!” “Lets see, first I’ll quite
my job and get a new car a big home.” Just knowing that you have
all that money is so overwhelming you momentarily forget about the deal
that you made with the salesman. Well just look at your life now, you
have everything you ever wanted. More friends than ever before. Family
members that you had problems with seemed to have buried the hatchet,
at least that is for now. Life is one big party and you are the host with
everything in control, for the time being.
Two years have past and the money that you had is almost gone. You have
spent it on parties, gifts for friends, booze and yourself. Then the big
day came. You get a letter in the mail; it’s from the IRS. It states
that you owe them some three million dollars in back taxes. But wait,
there is another letter this one is from an attorney; one of your so-called-friends
is suing you because he got hurt at one of your wild parties. Panic and
fear starts to overcome you, because you know you don’t have the
money to pay these people. Your little world is starting to fall apart
with every passing day. The IRS has put a freeze on your assets and a
lean on everything that you own. Then it happens everything that you once
cherished is gone! It was all sold to settle with the IRS and the attorney,
however there wasn’t enough left of your worldly possessions to
pay off the total bill.
Your life has hit rock bottom, you have no job, money, friends, or family.
The material things that you once treasured so much have all disappeared.
The great wealth that was promised to you is gone just as fast as you
received it. Now you are living on the streets fighting all the elements.
You are cold, wet, hungry, dirty and lonely. You have nobody to turn to
for help not a friend in the world at all.
You walking down a black ally road, when suddenly you fall into a deep
dark hole. How ironic, falling into a hole is indicative of your life
at the moment. You cry out “Will someone please help me out of here!”
People who you thought were your friends look down at you and keep on
walking without a second thought. “But..but...they were my friends
before, why not now?” “Why won’t they help me out of
this hole?” Then you realize the people who you thought were your
friends were only in it for the money and the material things that you
had. An empty feeling of depression over comes you. You hang your head
down in shame. “My life is a mess...MY LIFE!, Oh no the contract!”
You suddenly remember the salesman and the contract that you signed. “I
will give you everything you want, but when it comes time I want one thing
from you.” ...”Oh my God I’ve sold my soul to the devil!”
Then from the darkness inside the hole there is an evil laughter. “The
contract cannot be broken by anybody NOT EVEN by the Son of Man!, you
signed it in blood so that means you are mine!” The presence of
evil is taunting you and laughing. You fall to your knees and cry out,
“Will someone help me Lord will you help me!?” The evil laughter
suddenly stops. Then the hole is filled with a bright glowing light. You
look up and stand on your feet; to your surprise it is the Lord himself,
Jesus. His arms are open wide to receive you; He has a look on His face
of forgiveness and never ending love. “Lord will you help me, I’ve
signed a contract with the devil, and he says the it can’t be broken
by anybody.” Then the Lord says, “Satan is the father of all
lies, he comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Give your life to me and I
will break the contract, I will give you eternal life thou me and my Father
who is in Heaven.” Without a second thought you fall on your knees
and say, ...Lord I have sinned...and I’m sorry...please forgive
me and help me, I want you as my Lord and Savior. Suddenly you look up
and you’re out of the hole. And then you turn around to find it,
its gone.
Then you see Jesus going back to Heaven and you here Him say “Your
name is not on any contract, but it is written in The Lambs Book of Life.”
My friend be careful for what you want and wish for ...it just might
come true. Having everything that your hearts desire my be the worse thing
going for you. Money, fast cars, and material things cannot ever fill
the void in your life. There is only on thing you, me, everybody needs
and that is Jesus. Jesus will fill the emptiness in your life. Trust him,
and he will never leave you or forsake you. |
