The wonderful detail in these paintings may give the impression that they are photographs. These paintings are much more than the documentation of a place. The very detailed beauty comes from a new way to paint that Kendall invented. He studies the feelings he feels from a bush or a tree, the emotion he feels from a window or a waterfall, the inspiration he feels from a spire or a mountain. Then, beginning with a blank canvas, he uses the principles and elements of fine art painting to express those emotions and feelings in detail. The final result appears to be a real place that you can walk right into, but it was painted from Kendall’s imagination.

Kendall has a special way of painting the temples to help you feel like you are standing right at the temple. You may feel Heavenly Father’s Spirit and the Savior inviting you to “Come unto me and I will give you rest”.
