We walk a mere two blocks down the hill to Cleveland Circle. The "circle" itself is actually a complex intersection of many different streets, further complicated by revenue and non-revenue trolley tracks. It actually took me longer to cross Beacon Street at the Circle than it did to walk down Chestnut Hill from Commonwealth Avenue.
In the Cleveland Circle area, there are a few Chinese restaurants and pizza places. A movie theater called Circle Theater might offer rest rooms if they are outside the paid area. I definitely noticed rest rooms in a Dunkin Donuts on Beacon Street near where the "C" trolley originates.
Depending on how we are doing for time, we may wish to walk over and around the yard and see just how close the Reservoir station on the "D" line is.
Well, if our ride inbound on the "C" trolley seems shorter than the outbound ride on the "B", that is because it is. Remember that the "B" made an arc, and also went about one mile beyond Chestnut Hill Avenue. The "C" line is straighter.
The "C" route is more commercial. You will see more name stores along Beacon Street, instead of the homes and institutions along Commonwealth. Before you know it, we will be re-entering the subway through another portal, joining with the "D" line, and then entering Kenmore Station (where the "B" joins us too across the platform).
The ride in the tunnel is the same as before. We will stay on the "C" trolley until it terminates at Government Center. We must switch here for a "D" or "E" trolley to continue northward.

We've already ridden this route as far as North Station. After North Station, we continue westbound on the elevated tracks over Causeway Street, and then curve to the right towards Science Park. We remain on a high structure as we continue northward towards Lechmere. On the right you can see, amidst the highway construction, the Commuter Rail lines approaching North Station, and the Orange Line whose Community College station is underneath the bilevel freeway.
As we approach Lechmere, we leave Boston and enter Cambridge once more. Just before we enter the Lechmere terminus, the route drops down to ground level on a rather steep incline.
Everyone must exit the car here. For those who ride to this station for the sake of riding, one must pay another fare when boarding a car departing Lechmere.
It's time for us to relax. We have conquered the entire Green Line today, including bus substitution over part of the Arborway branch. We will walk 3 short blocks to the Cambridgeside Galleria, a rather large shopping mall, and eat in their food court. Those who wish to ride further tonight and explore the Blue Line have roughly an hour here before we continue.
The Galleria has rest rooms on one side of the food court, near the Taco Bell.
