Orange Line

North Station to Downtown Crossing

On this short ride through the downtown tunnel, we will pick up the only section of the Orange Line that has not been ridden thus far.

We board the Orange Line on the Superstation platform. The future southbound Green Line track is across the same platform. The northbound Green Line towards Lechmere will run on a ledge overlooking the Superstation platform. Together, the combined Orange and Green Lines will someday have direct access to the Fleet Center and North Station without the need to go outdoors.

After we pass Haymarket, we are on tracks not yet covered during this Fest. The next station stop is State, transfer point for the Blue Line downstairs. State, like other stations that date to the original subway tunnel, has northbound and southbound platforms offset from one another.

Downtown Crossing is next, and we will transfer to the Red Line downstairs.

Red Line "A" or "B"

Downtown Crossing to South Station

For our final Boston subway trip of the weekend, we can take any Red Line train going towards Ashmont or Braintree. We are only going one stop, to South Station.

Once at South Station, it's time for our final meal together at the food court, a farewell meal after a whirlwind of subways, light rail, AMTRAK, and commuter rail. And there's still the trip home!

Remember if you left your luggage at South Station, don't forget to retrieve it before boarding your train home!

End of Boston "T" Party

It's been quite a ride, hasn't it? Thank you to all who joined us today for Part C of the Boston "T" Party. And for those who were involved all three days, you surely can say you got your money's worth by coming to Boston, and by purchasing that 3-day Visitors Pass!

Enjoy your trip home, no matter how you will get there. But when you arrive home, please drop me an e-mail to let me know you got back safely, and anything else interesting about your trip. Getting to and from these Fests is all part of the fun.

Michael and I will be on the 1:00 PM Acela Express, #2255, headed for Metropark, NJ.
