Dot
On July 5, 1971 I was blessed with my first angel, Dorothy (Dot). On September 4, 1973 I received my second angel Rose (Rosie. The girls where diagnosed with Batten Disease in Jan. 1983. Dot was given to us to lay the carpet for things to come. She was the beginning teacher. She taught strength, and fight. Life wasn't fair, you could hear her say, yet she did things in her short life to make things fair for others that followed, she gave strength to those around her by trying them to the end of their ropes. On February 19, 1988 Dorothy stepped aside for the second angel, Rosie. Rosie was different then Dot yet so much the same. Her job was to teach: togetherness, sharing, caring and to deliver to each one of us the greatest gift of all--Love. Rosie could take someone she met and touch their very soul, she made them care, made them deal with the handicaps of others and connected lives that would have otherwise never touched. The only tools that she used was her beauty and love. There wasn't a person alive that Rosie couldn't sway. On January 24, 1998 Rosie left us to take her place beside her sister in heaven. My girls had wonderful lives here on earth and successfully changed the lifes of many of us still here on earth. They taught and gave and still give everyday to other Batten children who they have never met. My daughters brains were donated to research so that others could benefit, so they go on teaching and helping and caring. My girls are at peace and whole again.
