"Dear Heart"...
the birth of a LOVETEAM, the birth of a STAR...*** *** *** *** *** ***
Everyone was anxious, curious, thrilled and excited to witness cinema history unfold as singing sensation SHARON CUNETA stars in her first major film "DEAR HEART", a movie about young love, first love produced by Sining Silangan, under the direction of Danny Zialcita. The movie was well accepted by the movie-going public, and although movie critics had mixed views about the movie as well as Sharon's performance, it still was a nice sweet treat to her growing number of fans. SHARON was paired onscreen with GABBY CONCEPCION, they were a box-office phenomenon alas, a STAR and a LOVETEAM was born. GABBY eventually became her husband in the years to come ( now, who could forget their grand wedding?), they have starred in several other movies, all of them box-office HITS. Thus,becoming everyone's most beloved loveteam back in the 80's (and to their most loyal fans, 'til eternity?), proving strong in the spotlight, having established themselves as a major loveteam and box-office attraction, a winning team, successful, bankable. Their team-up being exclusive only to VIVA films. Sadly though, their union in real life did not have a happy ending as compared to that of the characters they portrayed in all of their movies...

Sharon was an exclusive contract star of VIVA films, her mother studio, she has made numerous quality and commercial movies, box-office hits under VIVA, she has done movies for Star Cinema lately... but did you know that before SHARON became a movie sensation, she was a child star first? She starred in a movie entitled "Lovers For Hire"... Aside from Gabby Concepcion, SHARON had successful team-ups with Christopher de Leon, Richard Gomez and Robin Padilla. SHARON was also paired with hot newcomers then like Ton-ton Gutierrez, Eric Quizon, Ariel Rivera...and also with Big Action Stars like Cesar Montano, Rudy Fernandez, Bong Revilla and FPJ. All her earlier films are to be considered classics now, back then, they were unique, her teeny-bopper movies with Gabby, Rowell Santiago, William Martinez and Miguel Rodriguez, her movies offered something different and new, they catered to the 'A' crowd as well as the 'Masa' crowd. SHARON was indeed a fresh, pleasant surprise... change was just around the corner when she starred in pang-Masa movies, and still the public loved her more. SHARON was cited for her work as an actress and given recognition from several award-giving bodies. She has won acting awards for "Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin", "Sa Hirap At Ginhawa", and hit a grand-slam with "Madrasta", and most recently, she was named MFF 2002's Best Actress for "Magkapatid". Not only is she an award-winning actress but also a major box-office star. SHARON is also a Box-Office Hall of Famer, she's been recognized and awarded such title since as a teen idol until recent years as a mature performing film artist.
