Biography Gregory Stuart Gordon Was born on July 22, 1957 as the second and last son of two children born to Robert and Enid Gordon. Greg's parents emigrated to the United States from the tropical island country of Jamaica to attend college. After completing Howard University "mother" (as Greg always referred to his mom) became a third grade teacher in East Brunswick, New Jersey. She supported Greg's dad while he went through dental school. As a young child Greg lived with his family in a racially mixed neighborhood of New Brunswick, while attending school in the almost exclusively white school district of East Brunswick where his mother taught. After school he would be taken care of by his "second mother;" Mrs. Dorothy Vlcej, an eastern European woman who was also leader of the local 4-H group with which Greg became actively involved. Greg credits the 4-H philosophy of concern for nature with his environmental activism. Once Greg's dad established himself as a successful dentist his family moved to a near mansion in East Brunswick's Colonial Oaks section. During high school, Flash, as he was known due to his incredible speed, starred in both track and football. He won his football team's Best Offensive Back Award, twice. In high school Greg was part of the New Jersey Institute for Political and Legal Education. Each year the Institute holds a Model Congress to teach students the inner workings of our country's Senate and House of Representatives. During his Junior year Greg won the Institute's award for being the best representative in the House. In his Senior year Greg won the Model Congress Chairmanship competition and became Speaker of the House and student director of that year's Congress. Gregory attended Cook College of Rutgers University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1980. His major was International Environmental Studies with an emphasis in Public Policy Analysis and a minor in Economics. He kept up his political activities by running for and being elected to the New Jersey Public Interest Research Group's state board of directors. In his senior year Greg was selected as one of the two representatives from Cook College to be an Undergraduate Fellow of the Eagleton Institute; the graduate school of Political Science at Rutgers. He also held a part time job as a camera salesman and freelanced as a disco disc jockey. During the summer after college, Greg was faced with a dilemma. Should he become a disc jockey or attend law school. He had been accepted to Boalt Hall at the University of California at Berkeley. Then an unexpected event happened. He had the experience of being Christ after taking an unspecified drug. He was hospitalized for the first time and when he got out he discovered how to produce laser arcs or circles in his hands using black balloons. He saw this as a sign that his experience as Christ had a higher meaning. After reading Revelation for the first time he decided to go for it and attempt to claim the title of the Second Coming of Christ. At that point Greg's life as he had previously lived it ended. As he began to enter his new life he was filled with trepidation and doubts. Never the less "he came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." (John 1 11-14) |
