The first time that I heard personal Jesus I was on the dance floor of Manny's Den in Franklin Township, New Jersey.  I was performing as I usually do in full God Mode.  When I heard the song I thought that the words were: "You've found the sound, Jesus!"  The actual chorus is: "Your own personal Jesus, someone to hear your prayers, someone who cares."  To say the least I was delighted.  Indeed I had found the Sound.  There I was on a dance floor and someone was singing about Jesus.  Truly a miracle.
     At the end of the night I went up to the DJ who happened to be Peter "Binky" Shartier.  Peter and I grew up on the same block on Colonial Drive in East Brunswick, New Jersey.  I really did not play with him as he was much younger than me.  It was not until I started to go to The Melody Bar in New Brunswick that I got to know him.  He is an excellent DJ.  He was not the best DJ at the Melody however.  Matt Pinfield of MTV fame got his start there.  I tend to think that part of Matt's fame can be attributed to my regular appearances at The Melody in the 1980's.
     At any rate, at the end of this particular night I made sure that I went up to Peter and asked him the name of the song that went like this: "You've found the sound Jesus?"  He told me that the name was really Personal Jesus and that it was by Depeche Mode.  It figured.  They were already my favorite group since they had put out Music for the Masses.  Strange Love was already a God Rock classic. 
     Personal Jesus is really not a superior song musically by Depeche Mode standards, however it will crush just about anything by most bands.  Where Personal Jesus really shines is in its blend of great music with an open confession and total understanding of the reality of Jesus.  Everyone has his own concept of Jesus Christ.  I believe that I am the physical reincarnation of Jesus Christ.  Of course, this flies in the face of standard Christian doctrine.  Which refuses to accept the obvious fact of reincarnation. 
     Naturally, people often want to challenge me by saying if you are Jesus then do this or do that.   Here is my answer to all of you: "I am The Second Coming of Christ who is, according to the Bible, one and the same as  God.  (See Revelation chapter 21).  I am God.  You are made in my image.  I am not made in yours.  What that means is anything I can do you can do.  It does not mean I can do the same things I am reported to have done in my prior lives.  Nor does it mean that I can do anything that you think I should be able to do, be, think, act like or anything else you desire. I am That I am.  I am What I am.  I am Who I am.  I am Where I am.  I am The Great I am.  I know Why I am.  I think therefore I am.  So should you."
