Tanya Katerina Noegel discovered her love of writing at age seven, after winning first prize for a children's story in a school-hosted contest. She has since written in various modes, including poetry, news writing, academic research and technical writing. Though she enjoys exploring other writing venues, nothing nourishes her soul like her true love: short fiction.

Born into a military family, Tanya possesses a wandering spirit that has helped fuel her passion for writing. Whenever she has felt her fire waning, a trip to someplace new -- be it as far as the Caribbean or as close as the grand opening of a local coffee shop -- has rekindled her need to record the wonders of the world and people around her.

Supplementing her writer's soul is a calling to teach. Helping other writers reach their full potential provides ultimate satisfaction for Tanya. She dreams of a day when she can spread her love of writing to young people, a dream seconded only by her desire to write her own best seller.

▪ ▪ ▪ In pursuit of both her loves -- teaching and writing -- Tanya studies English at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She lives with her family in rural Texas.
