Welcome to our farm. We raise sheep on our small farm. We have chores to do every day to keep the sheep healthy and growing.

Most sheep have white wool. White wool is sold and can then be dyed many colors. Some farmers also raise sheep that are colored such as the black sheep that you can see here.

Most of the year, sheep eat grass. Sheep will spend many hours each day grazing and many other hours each day chewing.

Farmers must have a way to protect their sheep. This picture shows a guard donkey. His job is to make sure that dogs and coyotes stay away.

During the fall and winter, the grass quits growing and the sheep are fed hay.

Most lambs are born in the spring. Female sheep are called ewes.

A male sheep is called a ram. The ram is larger than the ewes.

Some rams have horns. Most don't. Sometimes rams can be mean so you must be careful around them. You should not trust any ram.

Most sheep have ear tags so we can remember who each one is.

Some sheep have tattoos.

Sometimes, the sheep have numbers painted on them.

A veterinarian visits our flock to make sure the sheep are healthy.
