Hollywood...Who?
Nokio, Jazz, SisQo and 'Hollywood'- Dru Hill? It sounds strange but it could be the new format of Dru Hill.  In case you didn't know, Mark "Hollywood" is actually Woody's cousin and a very very good candidate to fill the void left behind by Woody. Of course, Woody will always be a member of Dru Hill and will continue to work on future Dru Hill projects... behind the microphone. Woody will always have his spot here at DruHillLive.com.

Dru Hill Reunites for New Album and Tour
SisQo will reunite with his Dru Hill boys for a new album and tour. According to USA Today, SisQo, Nokio and Jazz plan to enter the studio in the next few weeks to start work on the new Dru Hill project, currently titled "Dru World Order". The group are also recruiting an as-yet-unnamed fourth member to replace Woody who left the group to pursue a Gospel music career. The  album is rumored to be out by November 21, 2000, with a tour planned for as early as January. However, the first single off the new album could hit the airwaves as early as October. As for the remaining Dru World Order projects, well the guys decided to hold off on Nokio and Jazz’s albums, and give fans a taste of what they’ve been missing with a group album. More info coming soon.  (Yasmin)

MTV's Making the Video: "Unleash The Dragon"
With an estimated $2.5 million shooting tag, SisQo's new video was too good for MTV not to snag. Check out MTV's 'Making the Video' soon to witness the production and the world television premier of SisQo's new video "Unleash the Dragon".

Bad News on Woody
DruHillLive.com has come to learn that Woody won't be coming back to Dru Hill under any circumstances. We were shocked when Tiff informed us about this heartbreaking news from a reliable source (Sister 2 Sister Magazine) since rumors about a certain replacement member have spread like a 'rash' all over the internet. We're not the first to report this rumor but we're the closest to the truth. If that weren't enough,  Dru World Order could possibly be the last Dru Hill album in a long time. Furthermore, certain economic problems, involving members of Dru Hill, have surfaced at DefSoul. All fans are urged to remain calm as we have yet to confirm this news.

SisQo Battles "Dragon" and Saves Tatyana Ali!
SisQo recently shot the follow-up video for the title track of his smash album "Unleash the Dragon". Directed by Martin Weisz (Brandy, Dru Hill), the three-day shoot showcased SisQo in an incredible action-packed mini-movie with an estimated $2.5 million shooting cost. Filmed at the Athletic Club in downtown Los Angeles, the video will feature panoramic views of the city with SisQo performing from the 30th floor of the skyscraper for tons of screaming fans. The drama will begin when a huge Dragon decides to to crash the party and cause mayhem on the streets below. Newscasters will report on the event as it unfolds and as SisQo battles the Dragon in the climactic match, while keeping his eye out for one special lady who has tangled with the beast. That special young lady is non other than actress/singer Tatyana Ali. The CG Dragon creature will be created by Patrick Tatopoulos, who created the Godzilla monster for the 1998 film of the same name. No official word on when the video will be out from post-production but expect it to premier on MTV's 'Making The Video' sometime in early August.

Dru Word Order date Confirmed! Solo albums Delayed
Dru Hill's third album, unofficially titled Dru World Order, is still under question...the title that is. The album, currently under production, lacks a working title despite its inherited Dru Word Order labeling all over the internet and published publications. Despite this complication, the record has been confirmed by DefJam Recordings and is slated  for a November 21, 2000 release date. As for the rest of the solo albums, they'll be released over the course of 2001 since they are not scheduled to be issued this year. Dru fans will also be overjoyed to hear about the Dru World Order Extravaganza, the long-awaited Dru Hill tour, currently in its planning stages! The tour will most likely introduce Chinky, Butter, Kenji and Serenade (Lovher), Make It Hot w/ Kid, Freak Nitty, Philly Frank, and others. Stay tuned to DruHillLive.com for more updates.

SisQo Spices up the "Party In The Park"
SisQo performed at this year' "Party In The Park", along with Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, and Destiny's Child (just to name a few). The event was held on July 9th in  London, England and broadcasted live over the internet. The 100,000-strong in London's Hyde Park refused to let soggy weather dampen their spirits as artist after artist braved the slippery stage. Despite the rain the dragon, geared up in a trademark green suit, managed to heat up the crowd with giant images of his ladies in thongs! If you missed the webcast, we have got the pictures right here.

SisQo Co-Stars Next to DMX
"What These B*tches Want" or the politically correct version "What They Want" is the latest single from the Ruff Ryder founder. Co-produced by Nokio, this song features SisQo on vocals behind the top dog...DMX. Directed by Hype Williams, the video promises to live up to its catchy hook. Filming has just been completed so you can look forward to some of the "Thong Song" vibe later this summer as SisQo shares the spotlight with DMX on the new music video to 'What They Want." Also, keep an eye out for Nokio, who will be making a hot cameo in the video as well.

"Thong Song" Uncensored!
The man behind the "Thong Song" revisited the booty last week while shooting video for his remix of "Thong Song" in Los Angeles. SisQo snagged the appropriately risqué Foxy Brown for the remix, which will surface on the soundtrack to the "Nutty Professor" sequel. Foxy wiggles her way into the video for the remix as well, helping Sisqo put together what promises to be a prequel to the original "Thong Song" clip featuring a throng of thongettes clamoring for a cameo in the video. "Foxy got chose for the 'Thong Song: Uncensored' mainly because myself and Def Jam Records, we pretty much have been working pretty close-knit with my  whole project," SisQo explained.
"We were kind of thinking, 'All right, how can we do a remix to one of the most phenomenal songs of the year?' It's kind of difficult when you have so many different people in the same song, to do a remix to try to please everybody again. It's almost impossible." Sisqo will undoubtedly trot out at least one version of "Thong Song" during his ride on 'N SYNC's U.S. tour this summer. The Thong Song Remix was also voted "Jam of the Week" by DruHillLive.com visitors for the week of June 20th-June 27th.

"THONG SONG" HITS MIAMI!| January 27, 2000
While the rest of the world cozies up to their TVs to watch the Super Bowl this weekend, Sisqo will hit the beaches of Miami with L.L. Cool J, Method Man, Redman, and his own cohorts from Dru Hill to shoot the video for "Thong Song."

Sisqo and director Joseph Kahn plan to be on  location at South Beach, Miami from January 30 until February 1 to shoot the video for "Thong Song," the second single from Sisqo's solo album, "Unleash The Dragon."

For Sisqo's previous video, "Got To Get It," the singer was able to block off a portion of Hollywood Boulevard and recreate an extravagant Chinese New Year's parade,  but for the new clip, Sisqo says he plans to stay close to the song's original gist and will even bus in some lovely ladies to help him "flesh out" the concept.

"The 'Thong Song'... it's going to be a nationwide phenomenon," Sisqo told the MTV Radio Network. "Actually, we're taking several girls from each state to get on a bus and come down to the video shoot. It's gonna be like Spring Break in the middle of wintertime."

Sisqo also said that he's gotten nothing but positive feedback from his female fans for the rather suggestive "Thong Song," which he thinks is because of its admittedly lighthearted tone. "They love it," he said, "because it's not really derogatory. It's kind of a fun song. Like, it's kind of one of those songs that everyone can get into. I was trying to stay away from the whole 'scrubs' or 'bills' thing." "I mean, I'm not saying those weren't good songs," Sisqo added, "but I think for the year 2000, I think people should just be getting together, having fun, instead of having this boy versus girl kind of thing."

DRU HILL TEAMS UP TO BATTLE BREAST CANCER| January 21, 2000
After handing the track "Love Sets You Free" over for the soundtrack to the critically acclaimed film "The Hurricane," Kelly Price has reworked the song with some high-profile friends for a good cause.
Price (who originally recorded the song with Aaron Hall) hooked up with Montell Jordan Dru Hill in Los Angeles on Tuesday to record a remix of the song. The artists have earmarked proceeds from sales of the remix to benefit breast cancer research. Of course, the original version of the song can be found on "The Hurricane" soundtrack, which also carries cuts from Black Star, The Roots, Jazzy fatnastees, Gil Scott-Heron, K-Ci & JoJo, Bob Dylan, and Ray Charles.

GOT TO GET THAT VIDEO!| October 26, 1999
Dru Hill's Sisqo stopped traffic in Hollywood on Wednesday and Thursday night in order to film a video for "Got To Get It," the first single from his forthcoming solo LP, "Unleash The Dragon." The Dru Hill frontman took to the streets of Hollywood Boulevard to shoot scenes for the video, which was helmed by director Hype Williams, fresh off his work on the Dr. Dre clip for "Still D.R.E."

Even though the official holiday isn't until February 5, 2000, the "Got To Get It" video will recreate the look and feel of a Chinese New Year parade, including floats, fire-eaters, and dancing dragons. Sisqo's "Unleash The Dragon" is due out on November 30, while his Dru Hill counterparts, Jazz and Nokio, plan to issue their own solo albums in April and July of next year, respectively. In addition to the solo work, Sisqo and the rest ofDru Hill have also contributed material to Michael Jackson's long-awaited new record, which the singer has recently been working on out in a Los Angeles studio, according to Sony Records.

SISQO'S OFFICIAL RELEASE DATES--
On Thursday, Sisqo unvailed his new 'silver' hair style as well as the release date for his first single off his eagerly awaited solo album 'Unleash the Dragon' (previously entitled: GENRE). The first single is entitled "Got To Get It" and it's a blend of R&B with a new flava you've probably never heard from Dru Hill! The song is now playing exclusively on selected radio stations across the eastern part of the US but will officially debut nation-wide on November 1st. As for Sisqo's album, DefSoul plans for a November 30th release date here in the states...and November 29th internationally.

SISQO UNRAVELS THE DRU WORLD ORDER!|September, 6 1999
Dru Hill's Sisqo shedded some light on the group's upcoming plans. Pumping up the Dru World Order, he told journalists in the press room at the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards on Friday in Santa Monica, CA. of the band members solo projects and the group's next album:

DRU WORLD ORDER--
"The Dru World Order consists of the four members of Dru Hill doing solo albums," explained Sisqo, who was a presenter at the awards show. "However... everybody is gonna have a new Dru Hill song on each of our albums." Sisqo also said the Woody is rejoining the group-which also includes Jazz and Nokio -- for their next, and third album, which won't be released until November 2000.

On why Woody left, Sisqo said it was because "he had convictions in his own soul. And, he decided he needed to do a gospel album before he could sing or do any R&B music." Since Woody was doing his own album, it was the prefect opportunity for the other members of the group to go solo as well, said Sisqo.

UNLEASH THE DRAGON--
Sisqo's solo album, Unleash the Dragon, features cameos by DMX, Lovher (which he described as a "female Dru Hill"), and others. "And, I'm supposed to be doing a duet with Usher." When asked what his own solo music sounds like, he boldy said, "You all remember [Michael Jackson's] Off the Wall? It's pretty much like Off the Wall 2000... You'll see a lot less ballads on my album, however, I do have a several ballads on there, but I'm going for more uptempo. I think I created a new sound."

SISQO AND MICHAEL JACKSON!?--
Sisqo added that the talked about collaboration between him and Michael Jackson never transpired, but, according to his publicist, it might happen "closer to the new Millennium."--

"UNLEASH THE DRAGON"| August, 31 1999
Three months and counting 'til the release of Sisqo's eagerly awaited solo debut album, currently entitled "Unleash The Dragon". Details about this album and its collaborators have been kept under tight security, meaning that all you need to know will be released on a month-to-month basis. The album is gonna be off the hook for starters! The first single should be released by October 21 but there is little talk about making a music video to match it. Anyway, more light will be spread on these issues next month and all through out October...when things will really heat up! Hang in there.

  • WOODY AND NOKIO GIVE BACK TO CHARITY| August, 30 1999

  • BIG WOODY ROCK, yeah his album is due out after Sisqo's, sometime around January 2000. Since this album is set to be on the inspirational tip, what more could ya ask for than two best friends, a compasionate song, and donations to charities. Co-written by Nokio, "As Long As There's Love On Our Side" is a specially dedicated song that will benifit various charities in the Baltimore community and all around. Neither Dru Hill nor their respective labels nor management companies will make a single dime from this song. This could only mean one thing...expect "As Long As There's Love On Our Side" to be one of the singles off Woody's album. Now that's an ANGEL if you ask me.

  • DRU HILL MAKES BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENT YET| August, 23 1999

The solo albums are part of a larger deal the band has just inked with Def Soul/Def Jam Records that has created a new business venture, the Dru Hill World Order. As part of the deal, the current Dru Hill roster of Nokio, Jazz, and Sisqo -- along with Woody, who left the group back in March will form four separate label imprints to be distributed via Def Soul/Def Jam.

Each of the upcoming solo albums will represent the first release on each singer's respective label, and each will be expanding his label roster to include rising new artists.
