La Luna - |

August, Corn Moon This is a time to harvest the gifts you have nurtured and give to those who are in need. Collect and store fresh herbs for the coming winter. Bake special breads to honor the God and Goddess of grain and growing things, share them with your family and friends but save some to offer the Earth The Moon of Ripening (22 Jul - 21 Aug) This period is one of warmth and openness. This is the time to open up and bask in the warmth of the declining sun before the labors of the harvest ahead. The influence is one of reflection. |

Luna The Roman goddess Luna is the feminine personification of the moon. Her great power over the cycles of life, including birth and death, as well as her influence over the tides of the ocean are celebrated still today... Equated with the Greek Selene and, to some extent, Hekate. Her principal sanctuary was a temple on the Aventine Hill in Rome. Her festival was on March 31. She regulates the seasons and the months, and is associated with the first day of the waning moon. |
