This is a retrospective of Toby, Heather's surrogate littermate.
He lived with her from
6/16 to 7/30,2000.
He was a sweet beagle and we will all miss him.
He is returning to his home to learn how to be a "hound" again.

The first days. Getting acquainted was easy. Megan adopted the beagle readily.

Megan loved playing with the puppies;
but there's nothing like a puppy playing with another puppy

Sweet dreams.

Heather was a natural digger and she taught Toby to dig.
Heather continues to terrorize my back yard which is now full of craters.
Heather came in with mud all over her nose-a sure sign of digging.

They're digging the zoysia grass up.
What a mess they made of the yard.

Toby's last day with us.
He grew a lot faster than Heather; but he was still a big baby.
