The 3rd Object of the PTA is: To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
PTA is the single largest advocacy organization in the country whose sole focus is children and youth issues. PTA has advocates in both Sacramento and Washington D.C.
PTA members from each level of PTA learn how to relate to elected officials, keep apprised of the many local, state and federal issues affecting children, and also how to let you know about these issues.
The California State PTA is a nonpartisan organization. Therefore, California State PTA takes positions on issues, but never on candidates. Nonpartisan means California State PTA shall not be controlled by, associated with, or in support of the interests of any one political party or individual. (The statement in this paragraph has been modified from the CA State PTA page.)
