Crohn's Disease: An inflammation of the digestive tract commonly found in the
small and/or large
bowel that is very painful and very, very, annoying.
Experiences / Recipes / Who Runs All This? / Links
Welcome! I was first diagnosed with
Crohn's Disease nearly ten years ago and, being a teenager at the time, I
found it difficult to talk to others about the disease that did not have it. I created this site as a place to share stories
and information - for teens, by teens - with Crohn's Disease,
Colitis, or IBS. Apparently I've made a big impact here. I'm glad to do what I can to make a difference.
On this page, I will post experiences we teens have had with
the disease. Any advice you may wish to pass on to others is also
welcome. Since most all of us follow special diets, there is a
recipe section. I have tried many of the recipes listed here, and
several have become my favorites. Try them and let me know what
you think. Please keep in mind that all of our diets are
different, so what works for someone else may not work for you.
You might be saying to yourself at this point, "But I'm not a teenager! What can TWC do for me?" In the past seven years I've received e-mail from Crohn's patients of all ages who have had plenty of advice to offer and stories to share. No matter what your age group, be it preteen, teen, or used-to-be-teen, there is all sorts of useful information here that easily applies to all ages.
Send recipes or experiences to me and I will post them here. I welcome any feedback about this page. I have received mail from people in Denmark, Iceland, England, Holland, Belgium, Scotland, Thailand, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Indonesia, USA, Colombia, Brazil, Finland, Czech Republic, South Korea, France, India, Pakistan, Sweden, Slovakia, Israel, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Zimbabwe, Argentina, and Canada. It's great to know that we are all helping each other through the hard times and celebrating during the good times. As usual, I will try to answer every mail that I receive. See below to see what's new, and keep those e-mails coming!
Things have been changing in my life lately and I'm sorry to say that I don't have much free time these days to spend working on TWC. This is why I'm asking you, until further notice, to no longer send in material for posting on the website. By all means please continue e-mailing me with questions that are not answered somewhere on this website and although it can take me a while to answer, I will reply to everyone. If you need something answered urgently, there's plenty of kind souls engaged in helpful conversation at the TWC Message Board.
