Carob Brownies
Ingredients:
This list is divided into two parts: Base Mixture and Wet Mixture. The Base Mixture can be stored for months in an air-tight container. This way, whenever you want brownies you can add the Wet Mixture to the already-made Base Mixture.
Base Mixture:
- 5 cups sugar
- 1 can 8 oz. carob
- 3 cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp. salt
Wet Mixture:
- 1/3 cup of lactose-free butter
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tbls. water
- ½ tsp. vanilla
Directions:
1) Whisk together sugar and carob powder in a large bowl. Whisk in flour and salt until blended. This is the Base Mixture. Store it for up to six months.
2) Heat oven to 350º F. Line an 8" square baking pan with foil. Lightly grease foil.
3) Spoon 2 cups of Base Mixture into a bowl and combine with butter, eggs, water, and vanilla until blended.
4) Spread in pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Make 12 brownies.
