The Feedback and Experiences Page: August 1997
Thanks to everyone who has been sending me their experiences and comments about the page. It's really nice to know that someone is getting some good use from it. Here's a sample of the mail I've received. Some letters have been edited for space. If you want your e-mail address displayed by your comments, let me know. Otherwise, I won't put it up. After all, we all value our privacy! Several people have a nasty habit of not fully typing their e-mail address, especially on the forms. "SERVO999" is not a complete address. I must also have the "@wherever.com" to send you a reply. So please, send all of the information for an accurate response. One more thing: I get so much mail everyday that sometimes I
accidentally overlook a letter or two. If you don't get a response in a day or so, e-mail me again and remind me, please! Thanks for you help, and your mail!
Hello.
I am Dawn from South Dakota. I have had Crohn's since I was nine and I am 19 now. I have
been many medications including the horrible Prednisone. I had many problems and the side
effects of the medicine effected me so much I did not know what to think. I was introduced to
Espial Nutri Cleanse Vitamins. These are astonishing. What these things do is take all the
toxins out of one's body and strengthens it. After only two short months of taking
the Nutri
Cleanse I was able to go off Immuran and all medications completely. I have so much energy it
is unbelievable and I no longer have side effects. A doctor does not need to prescribe
this but
they should because with these little things, it has made my life much easier. If you would like to
receive more information I would be glad to help.
I was diagnosed with CD in January of 97. I have it in my lower
intestine as well as in my stomach. I was put in the hospital for 2 weeks because my stomach
closed off and stopped functioning. I am on lots and lots of medication. I take
Prednisone. I am
going to get off of it in October. This is the second time they have tried to get me off of it. The
first time I had a flare up. I don't like Prednisone at all. It made me gain a lot of weight. I also
had an incredible appetite. Now, instead of Prednisone they are putting me on Immuran. I am a
little scared about it, because I hear that it has terrible side effects. I am on Prilosec, too. It has
helped me a lot. I really like it. I am on propulsid. I take it to make my stomach function again.
This medicine is a life saver. It really sped up my stomach. I have to take iron pills, because I
am anemic. I also have to take calcium pills. I was on Asacol. My doctor took me off of it,
because I couldn't digest it right. So, I guess it didn't really help me a lot. I really like this page. It gives me a chance to read what other people are going
through. When I found out that I had CD in January, I thought I was the only one my age (16)
that had it. I had never heard of it. Now I know that I am not alone that other people my age
have it, too.

Hi,
Thank you for making this web page available.
My ten year old son is now going through the process of diagnosing Crohn's disease. Even
though he has yet to take a UGI, the doctors feel there is a very high probability that he has the
disease based upon blood studies and symptoms. So, I'm searching the web for good sites with
info on the disease and so far I have found your excellent site. Thanks for making
them available.
I'll check in here often if its ok for parents to use the site.
Thanks again.
I read something about the nicotine patch helping reduce some symptoms. Any info on this?
(Eric, I've never heard of this. Can anyone answer him? --Webmaster)
I look at your site every once in a while. Looks pretty good.
Well, I've had Crohn's since seventh grade, and am going to be a Freshmen
in college this fall. So far I haven't had any major complications that
were caused exclusively by the Crohn's. I did have a couple bad
reactions to some medicine, but that's life. Hopefully, I will continue to
do well. Knock on wood!!!
