Army/ Marine R&D Projects

-"Dragonfly" Pocket Sized Reconnaissance Probes
Using an ultra- miniaturized helicopter turbine and rotary blade mount, stabilizing fins, fiber- optic cameras, and a cellular modem, these self/ remote guided drones will be able to fly virtually unnoticed among enemy positions, despite their small size.
-Laser Guided Sniper Fletchetes
After an individual target has been painted with a laser beam, these hypersonic edged rounds will be able to act as their own control and guidance surfaces as they home in. Through sheer numbers, and programmed gyration, they will literally shred targets into gibbets. Flocks of several hundred fletchetes can be fired before the first hits, allowing stealthy retreat of black ops personnel.
-Hollowpointed, Depleted Uranium Bullets
These ultra- dense bullets will have a secondary piercing point behind a pocket of compressed air in the middle of the pellet. They will serve to first crack, and then penetrate body armor that would shrug off lighter caliber rounds.
-Exoskeletal Powered Armor Suits
Offering extreme protection, increased mobility, augmented strength, internal command/ control/ communication equipment, and autonomous medical functions, these pieces of field equipment will vastly boost both the survivability and lethality of our infantry personnel. Initial test models allow troopers to reach foot speeds in excess of 50 MPH, crash through cement walls uninjured, brave lethal environments, carry virtual hand cannons, and conduct battlefield planning simultaneously.
-Genome Specific Bio- Weapons
These weapons, while frowned upon, will allow us to decimate genetically non- diverse populations in all out warfare. The only fear is that our diverse population will become a hindrance to us as we will be open to far more varieties of these weapons.
-"Berserker" Stimulant Tabs
Current pharmaceutical research has reached a plateau of performance increasing drugs. These newer, higher yield drugs offer personnel the ability to overcome mind numbing numbers of unenhanced opponents, yet they exact a cost in years of life span for their consumers. We plan to make these drugs available to all personnel on a voluntary basis, for circumstances where all other options have failed.
-Peacekeeper Tanks
These ultra-light tanks, built for a crew of one or two, are designed around two WIre Guided, Armor Piercing (WIGAP) missiles. These WIGAP's, which are 2.5 meters long, and .3 meters in diameter, have a 350 pound shaped C-4 charge with an unjammable 3000 meter range. They form the tanks main defense against other tanks. The secondary armament, a 15mm rapid fire cannon with a 20 round per minute refire rate, illustrates the Peacekeepers purpose as a hit and run raider. With a sprint speed in excess of 80 miles per hour, few countermeasures will pose a threat to the Peacekeeper either.

Naval R&D Projects
-Slink Missiles
The next generation of Cruise missiles, these weapons will include stealth technology and multiple, independently targeted smart warheads to take advantage of the latest advantages in image recognition technology. They are designed to be virtually undetectable, which should make destroying one nearly impossible when combined with their short flight times, surprise factor, and high speeds. After reaching target proximity, each individual warhead will be able to home in on targets according to it's payload size. Minute infra red sensors can actively seek out profile matches, or feed data to controllers comfortably far from the action. The primary use would be to cleanse staging grounds, while lighter variations will allow us to sterilize military bases with minimal secondary damage.
-Arsenal Ships
Using decommissioned, surplus, or cheap capital ship hulls, we aim to create offshore missile batteries with low targeting profiles, heavy magazine capacity, and minimal crew requirements. The hulls will be cut down near or below the water line, and crammed full of missiles. High speeds will also be possible for these ships, and they will form the backbone of our naval attack fleets.
-Vertical Take Off/ Subsurface Recovery (VTO/SR) Ramjets
We are currently working on VTO planes to maximize the potential of naval helipads. This technology will allow even the lightest convoy to launch air support at a moments notice.
-Submersible Aircraft Carriers
Using Boomer (nuclear strike) submarines, we hope to eliminate our vulnerable surface carriers. The VTO/SR program will hopefully produce planes that can be fitted into the launch tubes previously occupied by SLBM's (Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles), and even elevated in to replace launched planes.

Air Force R&D Projects
-Genius Bombs
Similar to the Slink missiles, these bombs aim to be (pardon the pun) a way of applying multiple, independently targeted warheads in restrained ways against targets defined previously or in real time.
-Unmanned Precision Bombers & Reconnaissance Planes
The survivability of our planes has often been defined by their speed and maneuverability. By removing the human and human support components, space that has become redundant with the development of AI systems can be removed. The size decrease will produce greater speed without any further changes, while human frailty no longer puts a cap on endurable stress. Further, the elimination of training flights could cut maintenance costs by as much as 80%.
-Supersonic Combustion Ramjets (Scramjets)
Possibly in conjunction with our unmanned planes project, this new propulsion method will allow our units top speeds ranging from Mach 6 to Mach 14.
-Reactive Armor
Armor, often absent or minimal on our planes due to it's detrimental effect on speed, must be added to increase their survivability under increasing ground fire. While sufficient armor to withstand a direct SAM (Surface to Air Missile) hit is impossible to add without taking a hit in performance, SAMs are even more vulnerable to attack than the planes themselves. If we separate our present armor into two lighter layers, computer controlled explosives can be used to propel shrapnel from the outer armor into the paths of oncoming missiles. This double layered solution will also address the second threat that faces our planes; directed energy weapons. Segmented armor cuts down on conduction, and therefore, vulnerability, of the flight surfaces.
-Laser Weapons
Like our reactive armor, these systems are aimed at destroying vulnerable SAM's. Present development focuses on boosting the power of the lasers used to punch through atmospheric scattering. If a powerful enough laser can be developed, it might accompany, or even take the place of, the machine guns employed on many of our planes.
-Laser Dumped Nuclear Missiles/ Bombs
Nuclear missiles, while small enough to fire from aerial platforms, have been shunned up until now due to their englobing EMP (electro- magnetic pulse) effect. Basically, they've been suicidally stupid to use, and the secondary damage has been horrendous. Now though, certain advances in high density alloys and high speed nuclear modeling have opened up many possibilities. By heavily shielding the nuclear reaction, we plan to create a controllable, high energy weapon. The energy produced will be used to power several lasers, which may be set to fire in clusters or at independent targets depending on our control systems finesse.

High Guard R&D Projects
-Orbital Missile Platforms
FIST (FISsion Torpedo) and Cruise Missile Platforms are currently being expanded in space. Our aim is to have at least quadruple overlapping fields of fire in all sectors, and up to 30 megaton per second saturation on main approach lanes and launch corridors.
-Orbital Beam Platforms
The orbital power arrays that send microwave beams onto our ocean based receptors will shortly be retooled for possible military application. Rest assured, the increased risk of skin cancer remains minimal.
-Weather Satellites
Seven new Panopticon IV satellites, equipped with Barella 68 auto cameras, will be launched in December. Image resolution will be approximately 1 mm per pixel in ideal conditions, and the United States Geological Survey team will soon conduct extensive mapping of our neighbors. Remember, we are watching.
-Communication Satellites
The last of the Revere comsats will be launched on January 7. The network is expected to carry up to 5.75 billion calls simultaneously, and should be able to route up to 90% of the conversations going on via satellite at any given time on Earth. Secure closed circuit laser communications are guaranteed to all citizens.
-Anti- Satellite Satellites
Satellites that can split into multiple shaped charges on orbits to take out other satellites will replace the inter- orbital missile platforms that we currently are using, in accordance with the Treaty Of Calgary.
-Nuclear Pulse Drives
The Conquistador class Frigate, the Manta Ray class Destroyer, and the Liberty class Strike Fighter are all on the drawing board, with Batholemew-Richter nuclear reaction drives to provide propulsion. Further details are classified. Please disregard any rumors about the Sun Tzu Carrier development project. These should be reported to your neighborhoods Watch Force.
