Mk1 Spitfire
Good Points: Sound body (I thought), new Panasport wheels
and new tires, sound trunk floor, suspension and frame look good, dash in
good condition, new windshield glass and new rubber moulding between windshield
and frame and between windshield frame and body. Came with extra set
of carbs and manifold, chrome luggage rack, and tonneau cover. New
exhaust system has been installed.
Bad Points: Paint job not
very good. Needs new floor panels and much more
(repairs begin)
, carpet, Mk1
seat frames (car came with Mk2 seats)foams and covers, all interior
trim, various chrome trim pieces are missing including the left outer
door handle, needs dash pad and new window cranks,chromegrill has been painted
red. Convertible top frame is missing. Engine has been modified
considerably; not necessarily for the better. Many of the originalMk1 parts
under the bonnet are missing. Update 10/01: While replacing the
floor panels I discovered that the inner and outer rocker panels were covered
excessively with filler. I will have to replace these panels as well
as the front rocker end caps and the rear fender side panels. See
