Dear Mr. Dirks,
      I am dismayed that a monstrous predator of innocent animals and children, one Barry Herbeck, has been allowed to plea bargain and have serious counts of animal abuse and murder dropped against him.
      This man has sexually abused, tortured, and killed helpless animals that he fraudulently acquired from "free to good home" ads. In addition, he is a convicted child molestor who continues to victimize his young daughter by making her a witness to his cruel depravity with animals. He is a menace who will continue to prey on animals, children or whoever is vulnerable in his presence.
      Four years in prison and six years probation is not an adequate sentence for the perversion, torture and death that was inflicted on these innocent creatures! This menace must be locked away for the maximum possible time allowable by law, the full ten years. He must be stopped from savaging and murdering whatever innocents happen to experience the tragedy of crossing his path!
      Please never again allow plea bargaining in a case where an obviously dangerous and deranged repeat offender is charged. Thank you for your attention to this plea to protect our society, and prosecute criminals who perform such heinous acts to the fullest extent of the law.
