The Conference sponsors several annual events. The
following are some of the highlights from past events.

 |
A Capitol Time - Youth Advocacy Day
|
This fun and educational event gives Jewish
youth the opportunity to meet with legislators and see their state government
at work first-hand. During the 2001 event, over 70
participants toured the State Capitol Building, were introduced during the
Senate Session, had the opportunity to meet with Lieutenant
Governor Richard Posthumus and had lunch with many state legislators.
 |
Official Holocaust Commemoration
|
The Michigan Jewish Conference coordinates
this annual state-wide event that remembers the victims, survivors, rescuers
and liberators of the Holocaust. Over 60 survivors from throughout the
state attended the 2002 event. The ceremony included a candle
lighting by members of the Legislature, survivors and their families; stories
of the survivors and an award-winning essay by a Williamston High School
student.

Legislative Reception & 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
|
This year the MJC turned 10-years-old and
celebrated the triumphs of its first decade at its annual Legislative

and legislators joined in honoring Conference founder Robert Aronson, CEO,
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit
and past-director Cindy Hughey, Director, MSU Hillel.
