Jeannie Weiner is the Michigan Jewish Conference's new President. Ms. Weiner has served on numerous boards and committees, all dedicated to Jewish communal service. She has been recognized for her community service, volunteerism and in 1998 received the First Woman of Achievement Award for Jewish Women International. Ms.Weiner is married to Dr. Gershon Weiner and has three children and five grandchildren.
Susan R. Herman is the Conference Director. Susan has worked for over 25 years in community coalition building and advocacy. Prior to joining MJC in November, 2000, she was the Director of Michigan Families Against Mandatory Minimums, a statewide advocacy organization for criminal sentencing reform. Ms. Herman has worked on public policy issues at local and state levels of government and within all three branches of government. She has developed and conducted training programs nationally on numerous issues including working with children at risk and diversity. Ms. Herman is a graduate of Michigan State University and currently resides in East Lansing with her dog Gruffydd.
