2nd Prairie Creek Baptist Church sign - Vigo Co.,Indiana 2nd Prairie Creek Baptist Church Cemetery

Linton Twp
Vigo County,Indiana

2nd Prairie Creek Baptist Church Cemetery is situated at the intersection of Sutliff Road and Sullivan Place Road. Although Ephraim P. Kester is buried in the Kester Family Cemetery, he has a connection to this Baptist Church. See below a quote from "The Church with the Open Door", p.7

"In August 1828 a band of people, seeing the need of a church, met at the home of Ephraim P. Kester and after prayer, proceeded to choose William Stansel as moderator. At the same meeting B.I. Gunn was chosen clerk. On motion and second they found they were resolved to meet again at the home of Ephraim P. Kester on Saturday before the second Lord's Day in October 1828, to organize a church."

Taken Summer 2006
