Front of Postcard Vintage KESTER Postcard

Circa 1940s
Vigo County,Indiana

This old postcard was rescued from an antique shop on South US 41 near Terre Haute, Indiana in 1990. It is marked from: Mrs. Delta B. Kester, who is Myrta A. (Lee) Kester. The writer is her sister, Sylvia M. Lee. They both are daughters of William S. Lee and Cordelia (Kester) Lee. Delta Bennett Kester is the son of William Noble Kester, a civil war veteran. The Lyric theater mentioned was in downtown Indianapolis and was demolished in the late 50s or 60s. The Vera mentioned was Vera Hamilton, Sylvia's niece by her oldest sister, Marcia Ann (Lee) Hamilton.

Text on the back reads: Wishing you both a Happy New Year. Dear Sister: How are you? Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Vera is here spending a few days with me. Went to the Lyric yesterday. Why don't you write? Your Sis, Sylvia
