“Services for Letha Kester Held Monday”

Mrs. Letha B. Kester, age 72, 206 West Third Street, passed away Friday
afternoon, July 1, at the home of her son, Frank A. Kester, in Greenfield.
  She had been in poor health several months.

Born in Sheridan July 14, 1887, she was the daughter of Frank V.
and Orpha Perry Kercheval.  She married Albert P. Kester in 1917
and he died in 1927.

Mrs. Kester graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Terre Haute
Teachers College and Colorado Teachers College.  She taught in the Sheridan
schools for 12 years and was a bookkeeper for Rees-Young motor company for 18 years.
  She also was a bookkeeper for the Lanham Insurance Company for five
years.  She was a member of the Sheridan Methodist church.

Surviving besides the son at whose home she died are a sister, Mrs. Mabel Higbee
of Indianapolis, a brother, Donald Kercheval of Sheridan, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2p.m. Monday at the Pettijohn funeral home,
which was the family residence where she was born.  The Rev. Ralph R. Johnson officiated.

Burial was in Crown View cemetery.
