A Dusk-To-Dawn Tour TSD Road Rally

Saturday & Sunday, March 15 & 16, 1997

Round 2 of the Detroit Region SCCA Road Rally Championship Series

Dawnbuster returns as an all-night, Dusk-To-Dawn endurance Time-Speed-Distance road rally. The course will cover approximately 300 miles in Oakland, Livingston, and Washtenaw Counties near metropolitan Detroit. Since many of Southeastern Michigan’s most interesting roads are not paved, much use will be made of gravel roads. Rallying in early spring, unpaved road conditions may range from snow, ice, and mud to hard-packed washboards. All attempts will be made to keep speeds appropriate for prevailing road conditions.

The rally is governed by the 1997 Road Rally Regulations for Tour Rallies, published by Sports Car Club of America, Inc. Two breaks with time-of-day restarts will be used to help keep competitors together on the course.

The ability to stay on time under the conditions of night rallying will provide a challenge to both drivers and navigators. With Press On Regardless® changing to an all-night format this year, Dawnbuster will be a good tune-up for rally teams planning to compete in POR.

Free POR Entry to be Awarded

A free entry to the 1997 Press On Regardless rally will be awarded to the Dawnbuster rally team best demonstrating the "press on regardless spirit". Entrants are encouraged to share their hard luck stories with the organizers at the finish of the rally. Free POR entries are non-transferable; at least one crew member of the awarded team must be entered in POR.
