Crossing The Line competitors and workers,
I would like to thank all of you for Coming out to Marshall and making our third CTL a success. We had a total of 14 cars entered and we scored 14 of the 16 controls in the rally. Leg 2 was dropped when 4 cars came in on the same minute and one of the cars missed the timing hose. This made it impossible to insure which time went to which car, making the leg impossible to score. Leg 16 was dropped because of a bad mileage at an instruction containing a speed change, making the leg impossible to score.
I was very happy to see competitors from as far away as Wisconsin and Eastern Ohio who made the trip out to Marshall. I think we had the best route yet, the errors notwithstanding, it was our best effort to date.Thanks again to the following people who volunteered their time to come out and work:
Art and Sandy Welch,Jim Walker, Mark Kleckner, Brian Scott, Mike and Carol Zwick, Ginny Reese, Pete and Betsy Padden, Eric Olson, Marilyn Glass, and Dreux Jacques. And a special thanks to Bob Martin for coming out after working until 2 pm and doing the scoring. In addition I need to thank my wife Carolynn for all her help and patience in putting this event together.
