The Grand Adventure

Road Rally

Saturday April 24, 1999

The 1999 Grand Adventure will be a straightforward 130 mile Tour Rally, Scored on Time, Speed, and Distance (TSD). This event will be conducted on paved and unpaved roads in rural Allegan and Ottawa counties. Speeds will be reasonable but challenging. Timewise rally clocks will be used for timing.

The event will start and finish at the Avalon restaurant located in Douglas, MI on the Blue Star highway (old US-31 now A-2). This event is part of the Detroit Region and Central Division RoadRally Championships and will follow the 1999 SCCA Road Rally Regulations for Tour Rallies. Mileage will be given frequently to prevent anyone from leaving the course. One break, with time-of-day restart, will be used to keep the rally together, and on time. The need to stay on time consistently, maintain alertness and develop and maintain an accurate correction factor will challenge both the driver and the navigator.
