Originally from Poughkeepsie, NY
, but currently living in Peabody, MA, I am a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers
Falls, NY. I am currently working as a store manager at a national electronics
retailer. After seven years in college, I finally received my BA in Biblical and
Theological Studies and Youth Ministry from Gordon College. I would like to eventually
get an M.ed. (in middle school education) and maybe eventually a Ph.D. in Psychology, I don't know yet, and that's
far in the future, anyway. What I really want to do is work with teenagers. Someday I'd like to be able to move back to
Vermont and the beautiful glacial lakes and Green Mountains! I hate cities with
all the people and traffic and smog! I have a thing for greenery (trees, mountains, grass, etc.) and water.
Looking out from the front porch of my parents' cottage in VT:

Isn't it beautiful?!
I spent June 2001 in Israel taking a class at Jerusalem University College (Institute of Holy Land Studies) entitled
"Archaeological, Historical, and Geographical Settings in the Land of the Bible". I had an amazing time! When it came time to return
to the United States I almost didn't want to. I can't even begin to describe how much I learned from the
experience. I took about 450 pictures that are now all organized in a photo album. I have finally
begun to post some of them online. It was very difficult to decide which pictures to post and which ones to leave out. I narrowed it
down to only 50, but I might end up posting more later.
A little bit about my family...
I have two loving parents and an older sister. My parents were married on
February 14, 1959 (Valentines' Day -- how romantic). My father was an Advisory
Engineer at IBM for 37 years, but retired in 1993. My sister, Diane, is a graduate of Marist College in Poughkeepsie,
NY. If I remember correctly, she majored in French and Spanish and minored in
Russian and Computer Science. She's also an amateur photographer and artist; both
of the pictures on this page were taken by her.
At the beginning of last year I began dating a wonderful man. It was while we were apart when I was vacationing in San Francisco in February
that we decided that we had feelings for each other. Since then we have grown even closer. I introduced him to my parents and my sister last summer, and I'm glad to say that they like each other. I'm happy to announce that we got engaged on Thursday, August 15. Leo and I are planning
to be married on Sunday, July 20, 2003. Rev. David Mahn from Messiah Lutheran Church in Lynnfield, MA will be officiating at our wedding.
Up until last summer I had an absolutely adorable cat
named "Sassy" who lived with me in MA. She was a very sweet, friendly, loveable pussy cat. Just about everyone who met her loved her, as she was very
easy to get along with. She had some personality idiosycracies, but doesn't everyone? Granted, she always believed that she was the one in control, instead of me,
but that was part of her charm. I was greatly saddened when after five years together she died of natural causes on Tuesday, July 02, 2002.
I miss her very much.
This was Sassy:

My Hobbies are...
Collecting teddy bears (the huggable kind), cooking and baking, swimming,
boating, hiking, camping, site-seeing, playing with my cat, reading (science
fiction/fantasy and mystery novels), writing poetry and short prose, listening
to music (mostly classic rock, eighties rock, and classical), needlework,
creative crafts, playing games, and using my computer. Suitable for someone
who wants to work with teenagers, right?
Check out some of my favorite poems or some of my own poems.
