- Benjamin Adler's family
There were a number of children of Benjamin Adler. Some are placed and some are not. The "found" are Samuel, Victor Elias, Abram, Pauline, and Emma. Bernie and Leon are sort of found. The missing are Myer and Joseph. What happened to these people? Is Joseph the Joseph B. Adler I found in Chicago in the early 1900's married to Bertha and later divorced?
- Abraham Francks
Abraham was born in Dublin, Ireland around 1780 according to our best information. Unfortunately most Irish records of the period were destroyed during the Irish civil war of the 1920's. Contact with the Irish Jewish Museum in Dublin revealed nothing. Contact with the Manchester Jewish Museum in England where he moved to, gave some insight to his existence after he moved there but nothing before. Who were his parents? Where did THEY come from and when did they get to Ireland? Francks is obviously a Germanic name probably from Franconia.
- Nathan Smorgansky's first wife, Leah?
On Nathan's naturalization papers, he is shown as a widower. Later records shown him to be married to Gussie. A Gussie is buried with him that died in 1948. It has been reported that his first wife died, perhaps in childbirth, giving birth to Nathan's last child, Sylvia; and that he later married Gussie. Sylvia was born in 1909. I have finally found a census record for the family in 1910 that shows Leah as the wife, but then what?
- Meyer Smorgansky, father of Nathan
Meyer is shown on Nathan's gravestone and death record as his father. It is known that there was a Meir-Benzion Smorgonski born in Senjny and living in Vilna of the right age. Are they the same person?
- Steven Adler
Heresay anecdotes say that Steven is the child of Jerome Adler and an unknown first wife. The principals, other than perhaps Steven, are all gone, and we don't know which, of many, many, Steve, Steven, Stephen, etc. Adlers, ours might be or even which state he may be/might have been in. Is he real?
