My maternal German and Bohemian ancestors
- Clicking on the person's name will send you to that part
of the family tree that is associated with that person.
- John Georg Eisele's first wife,
Maria
All I know of her is written on her gravestone. She died in 1893. I am pretty sure John wasn't married when he got to America. The only likely Maria in the area was a young girl, Maria Budde, a daughter of Charles Budde, a man who was often mentioned on various documents associated with John Eisele. Did John marry this young girl during the last days of Dakota Territory?
- Joseph Goetz
This is John Georg Eisele's brother-in-law. I know the
family is from the village of Shonau in what is now
Poland. (Shonau is the old Silesian name for this
village.) link to Leobshutz, Silesia
now Glubceze, Poland region. He is a witness to John
Eisele's naturalization. I have also found a few birth
records for his children in ND. Then the family
disappears around 1900. Where did they go?
- John (Jon) Parkos
Jon Parkos came from southern Bohemia near Budweis;
probably from the village of Kolence. Who were his
parents? Siblings? I found his death record and
gravestone in Lonsdale, MN.
- August Fox
August Fox is a reported relative from the Eisele/Goetz
side of the family, a nephew of John and Hattie Eisele. He is reportedly shown here with two unidentified females. He eventually resided in Gridley, California. I don't know the exact connection to the family. Is his mother a sister to Hattie Goetz?
- A Goetz family gathering?
This photo was given to me by my Grandmother, Frances
Eisele (Parkos), who said that the people in the picture
were Goetz' she thought. Does anyone recognize anyone in
the picture?
