Images During War

Posted below will be photos of the soldiers of the 9th N.Y.. I would like to get photos of the soldier in uniform, in civilian life and their final resting place. If you have relative that served with the 9th and you would like to add his photo to this page, I'd be honored to include him. E-mail me by clicking here: Paul

Company A

The following photos are of Corporal Lee Banks of Company A. This first photo was taken at Camp Townsend, Peekskill, New York around mid-May 1898 when the 9th New York was mustering in. Corporal Banks is the second one from the left. Notice the backpack in the tent marked with "A" and "9". (thanks to Kenn N. for sharing this  photo of his Great-Grandfather)

This second photo was taken at Camp Thomas, Chickamauga Park, Georgia on August 15, 1898. Again, Corporal Banks is the second one from the left. Looks like bread and coffee is on the menu. Also notice the dirt floors inside tent. (thanks to Kenn N. for sharing this  photo of his Great-Grandfather)
