Images During War
Posted below will be photos of the soldiers of the 9th N.Y.. I would like to get photos of the soldier in uniform, in civilian life and their final resting place. If you have relative that served with the 9th and you would like to add his photo to this page, I'd be honored to include him. E-mail me by clicking here: Paul
Field & Staff and unknown
Another great photo!! This photo is of an unknown corporal of the 9th NY. You can clearly see the 9 and NY infantry insignia on his hat. Also above that is a Third Corp badge which the 9th was a member of when they were stationed at Camp Thomas, Chickamauga. A USV (United States Volunteer) can be seen on both of his collars. (Believe it or not, this photo was sold on ebay....too bad we don't know who this soldier is)

Here is another unknown soldier from the 9th NY. Notice the 9 and NY infantry insignia on his hat. This is actually a well done drawing of a soldier. If you happen to know this soldier, please let us know!! This drawing was on sale on ebay. (A very special thanks to Vickie for supplying this photo)

An unknown Company, or squad, of the 9th NY at Camp Thomas, Chickamauga Park, Georgia. Soldier on far right side of the photo appears to be an officer. It looks like he has a riding crop in his hands. Two corporals can be seen, one standing next to the drummer, the other one on the far right of the photo holding a rifle. Also if you look closely above the men's heads, you can see the tops of their tents and what looks like blankets or bedding airing out.
