Indianapolis Checkers
"1981/82 & 1982/83 C.H.L. CHAMPIONS"
The Indianapolis Checkers joined the league for the 1979/80
season and played in the league until the league folded after the 1983/84 season. Indianapolis played for 5 season in the W.H.A.
before they suspended operations in December of 1978. The City of Indianapolis was one of the five original franchises in 1963.
However, that season was short-lived as a gas explosion destroyed
the Coliseum in Indianapolis one month into the season. The team
was then moved to Cincinnati to finish the season.
