Above is a photo of the original 9th Regiment, Infantry, New York Volunteers flag from 1898. The 9th's colors measures 75"x 73" and features both its official Federal designation and its National Guard affiliation. The 9th's colors are part of the New York State Military Museum's permanent collection. Their collection includes a group of over 1,700 flags dating from the War of 1812 through the Gulf War of 1991. This flag was conserved: In Association with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPHRP): Textile Conservation Laboratory, Peebles Island, Waterford, N.Y..
