Lieut. C. W. Seward Dead

Newark, N.J., - Sept. 17. - Lieut. Charles W. Seward, twenty-three years old, of the Ninth Regiment, New York Volunteers, died at his home, 107 Park Street, Monclair, last night from heart failure, superinduced by typhoid fever. With his younger brother, Emmett Seward Jr., Charles went out with the Ninth Regiment. Both were Lieutenants, were stricken with fever at Chickamauga. Charles was sent north on sick leave and seemed to improve the first few days he was home, but then suffered a relapse. Emmett is ill in the hospital at Chickamauga.
